Design and Location Standards
The City of Reno applies specific design limitations to parking and vehicle storage within the SF-8: Single-Family Residential district to preserve neighborhood aesthetics:
- Front Yard Setback Prohibition: Off-street parking is prohibited within the front yard setback of the SF-8: Single-Family Residential district unless the parking is located on a driveway serving a single-family, duplex, or triplex residence [Section 18.04.903(a)(3)(b)].
- Driveway Dimensions: For residential projects, driveways must be between 12 and 30 feet wide at the curb cut. A minimum distance of 28 feet must be maintained between multiple curb cuts on the same property [Section 18.04.903(a)(3)(c)].
