Loading and Service Area Requirements

For warehousing and distribution facilities, loading areas must be located on the same site as the primary use and must comply with specific design requirements:

  • Loading areas must be at least 50 feet from any residential zoning district boundary [Section 18.160.150].
  • Loading areas must be screened from adjacent streets to the maximum extent possible [Section 18.160.150].
  • Loading spaces for industrial or storage facilities require dimensions of at least 12 feet in width and 45 feet in length, with 14 feet of vertical clearance [Section 18.160.150].

Screening Requirements for Outdoor Storage
